Where Black Art Lives Special Edition Long Sleeve

The Studio Museum in Harlem’s Studio Store announces its inaugural capsule collection, the “Where Black Art Lives” special edition longsleeve. Designed by Ayem, the design and research duo of Albert L. Hicks IV and Marcus Washington Jr., this unique T-shirt combines conceptual play and minimalist design in celebration of the Studio Museum’s past, present, and future.

In 1968, The Studio Museum in Harlem was founded to serve as a vital link between artists and community in the cultural capital of Black America. In this spirit of the Museum’s ethos around people, place, and art, Studio Store worked with Ayem to produce this special edition T-shirt, the first of two collaborations with the designers. "Where Black Art Lives” speaks to the Museum’s ongoing commitment to serve as the nexus for Black art and artists internationally. Hand-printed in a rich, textured red ink and high-gloss black ink on Everybody World’s 100% recycled cotton, this T-shirt is a stylish declaration of the Museum’s enduring place in Harlem and beyond.
