The Studio Museum has partnered with Thurgood Marshall Lower School (TMALS) for over a decade, and it is one of our longest-running partnerships. TMALS is a public elementary school located in Central Harlem with teachers and administration that know the importance of art for early learners. TMALS exists to provide a robust holistic learning experience for each child through social-emotional learning, cultural responsiveness, and belonging. TMALS embodies belonging through authentic, fully cultivated relationships with organizations within and outside the Harlem community. We are proud to be in community with Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School!
Education programs at The Studio Museum in Harlem consistently provide opportunities for communities to learn, connect and lead through the creative process. Through resources and programs that offer access to art and artists of African descent and activate opportunities for engagement with the Museum’s exhibitions and works from the permanent collection, the mission of The Studio Museum in Harlem is brought to life.
Modeled by second-grader, Grace Mackey of Harlem. Produced with the generous support of Sony Music Group.
