One of the many motifs found in Mickalene Thomas’s body of work is a repeating flower pattern from the upholstery of her childhood home in 1970s New Jersey.
When she imagined her work appearing on a five-panel hat, a shape that she prefers, we designed an all-over pattern that placed her motif on a new format. The "Studio Mickalene" logo is embroidered in black on the back.
