Barkley L. Hendricks Dancer Necklace Set

Capturing subjects, their style, and their character with intentional references and thoughtful technique, Barkley L. Hendricks presented renderings of figures that were joyful, human, stylish, and above all, distinctive. 

In this portrait, Hendricks’s presents a poised figure in a white leotard and a cropped, sharply parted, blonde afro. The golden set of geometric shapes adorning her neck, the silver eyeshadow on hereyelids, and herhands placed behind her back provide subtle but memorable insight into her world. 
 
This four-piece layered set, crafted by designer and entrepreneur Melody Ehsani, draws inspiration from this figure’s fun, layered, and stylish neck statement. With this set, Ehsani brings her commitment to community building and the highest standards of ethical production to the Studio Museum.
