A Tribute to Romare Bearden-inspired eyewear for the Vontélle collection.
Romare Bearden's exuberant tribute to Harlem is a celebration of the lively New York City neighborhood that nurtured his life and work. Though he was born in North Carolina, Bearden spent formative time in Harlem as a child, and in 1940, he established a studio in the same West 125th Street building as the artist Jacob Lawrence.
There are moments when art transcends canvas—when color, rhythm, and vision extend into the fabric of our daily lives. Inspired by Bearden’s celebrated collage work, The Romare Bearden Eyewear Collection by Vontélle Eyewear is one such moment: each frame becomes more than an accessory. It is a wearable canvas, with sleek silhouettes, chromatic harmonies, and statement-making designs that echo the pulse of jazz, the weight of heritage, and the brilliance of imagination-honoring the artist’s power to craft beauty from complexity and to reveal profound humanity through vibrant form.
